Off the charts

There are some funny things happening
in the sky tonight. The moon is pulsing
and there are sparks darting about.
There are charts and gizmos to track
the phenomena, but I just want
the magic of the night sky.
Understanding it is not necessary.

There is a rhythm I cannot place
when shadows make music seem muted
and few birds chance crossing the moon.
But I like the dark and the unknown.
